I owned this original cooky book way back when my boys were very young. Their favorites were the molasses crinkles and soft orange cookies with orange frosting. The boys grew up, the pages became disgusting with cooky ingredients and decades old spatters of dough, and some of the pages got torn out. Then my guys got married and started their own families. Their wives wanted to borrow my cooky book to copy recipes. One day, I discovered my book was missing from my shelf and no one seemed to remember where it might be. Just gone. And I was sad and so annoyed! I was browsing the Internet and found my cooky book was alive and well. I wasted no time in ordering a new copy. There they were again, my recipes for molasses crinkles and soft orange cookies. I nearly wept. I love this book. The recipes are easy and traditional. They mostly require ingredients I regularly stock in my kitchen. This is a great addition to any cook book collection, whether one has young children or is in a senior with fond cook memories in the household. I KNOW somewhere in my family my original cookbook is squirreled away. I, however, am the proud owner of a very clean copy with all the pages in order and intact.

This is the best cooky cookbook I have ever used & I come from a long line of bakers. Traditional russian tea cakes, ginger creams that melt in your mouth, lemons bars with just the right amount of sweet & tart, not sour. I've noticed over the yeas that I'll find a few new & well liked recipes, like pumpkin cookies with chocolate chips; however, my kids & grandkids still go for the ones that have stood through the ages. Enjoy!
I had this book when my children were little. I bought one for each of them(4sons.) The one I had was well used by me, and the children by always looking through it. Some how it was lost when we moved to a different home. Even though my sons had had their new book, they were sorry I lost the real deal. I ordered an old one for myself, because it brought back memories, to all of us. We didn't have much when they were children. If I could not do anything else for them, to bring back good memories, I used this wonderful book to make cookies, on Holidays. Now all. married with children of their own, I notice that this Betty Crocker cookie Book is on display in each of their homes. This makes me proud that they would
remember this book as cherished all these years, and are glad to help their wives and children make Betty Crocker's cookies in their home

This was a cookbook we had when I was growing up in the 1970s. The spelling of "Cooky" bothered me then and still bothers me today. Was that really a thing? I've never seen that spelling on anything since.

However, like my vintage Betty Crocker cookbook, this one is so handy to have for some great recipes. Paging through this brought back some good memories and there are so many things I want to try. This is a reprint of the original but they didn't change anything. Worth it for the classic recipes.
I've been married for 51 years and had used my Cooky Book for most of that time. During a household 'purge', somehow my beloved book disappeared. I was hearbroken..so many memories of baking as a newlywed and with and for my four kids and of epic Christmas baking sessions for sharing with family, friends and neighbors. I was SO happy when I was able to find the exact book online at my trusty , I celebrated! While I will miss all the notes I'd made in my old, falling apart copy that went missing, I was thrilled to replace it with a new one with all of my much loved favorite recipies safely repeated in my new book. You will love it, too, I guarantee. Full of terrific tips and a huge variety of great cookie recipes.
This was the very first cookbook I ever had! Nostalgia! My mom gave it to me when I was 7 years old. We made at least 6 of the recipes for all of our friends and family every year. I even mad the cookie house one year. I recollected some of the recipes over the years. The Snickerdoodles and Chocolate Crinkles are family faves. This book started a lifetime love of baking. It also started a lifetime of Weight Watchers! Ha!
I lost this cookbook somehow and was glad to get one in such pristine and excellent condition. It won't replace the memories of the one I had, but I'll have the recipes that I used so often which were obvious by the condition of the pages. I must have tried every cookie recipe in it and my favorite was one of the sugar cooky recipe. My Mom would call me before Christmas to make sure I made some for my Dad. So when I make them now it's a great remembrance of him, he passed in 2014. Thank you for replacing the memories of at least 45 years past.
A childhood favorite. I love that you can buy used books on . This one was indeed a treasure, filled with clippings and handwritten recipe cards tucked in the pages.
